The YouTube Growth Hack Nobody Talks About
Hey, I am back!
Long time no see, friend!
Before I dive into the YouTube growth hack nobody talks about, a quick update from me.
Just under a week ago, we moved to Austin, Texas, all the way from the Netherlands. We love it here so far, and I am writing this from an Airbnb in the greater Austin area. House hunting starts next week, so I’ll be fully back on the horse again after Christmas. If you are in the Austin area, let me know. I’d love to meet more people from around here. 🇺🇸
Also, this newsletter is BACK! Once a week, I’ll drop you a fresh one in your inbox with industry insights and YouTube strategy stuff to entertain and teach you for a few minutes.
Now with the pleasantries out of the way, let’s get into the YouTube growth hack nobody talks about.
This ‘‘hack’’ has literally helped clients like Jay make $500,000+ in his FIRST year from YouTube through leads, and John has gone from 30,000 views a month on average to now over 250,000.
In short, it works.
Most creators overthink their first upload.
They spend months perfecting one video, finally hit publish, and then wait around hoping the algorithm picks it up.
That’s the wrong approach for a LOT of creators.
Here’s the truth: when you launch a new channel, YouTube doesn’t know who your audience is yet. So in those early days, it’s running small tests, showing your video to different “clusters” of viewers to see who bites.
You can recognize this behavior by looking at the impressions chart. See a pattern that looks like a staircase? That’s a great signal that YouTube is testing your video with different types of viewers.

YouTube is testing with different types of viewers early on
If you only have one video, there’s not much to test with.
If you have three, YouTube suddenly has a data playground.
You’re no longer hoping one video hits; you ensure that you have three VERY similar topics uploaded in rapid succession to give YouTube more to work with in less time.
If a viewer from one cluster watches your first video, and then immediately clicks to your second or third, that’s a huge signal of satisfaction.
YouTube interprets that as:
“People like this type of content. Let’s show it to more people like them.”
That’s how you build momentum faster than 99% of new creators.
How to do it right:
Launch with three long-form videos on the same day.
Make sure they all target the same viewer profile (same tone, same type of curiosity, same emotional hook, very similar topic).
Add endscreens that lead viewers seamlessly to the next video.
This simple setup gives the algorithm what it needs - longer watch sessions, more data, and more proof that your content satisfies.

PS: I am adding new modules to my zero-to-1000-subscriber video course early in the new year. Also updating the outlier list. If there’s a good moment to get it, it’s now. Many people say it is still criminally underpriced, so use it to your advantage, I guess 😂
